A Message from Larry James
President and CEO of Central Dallas Ministries
 Thanks for stopping by! No
matter where you are today we hope to give you a
feel for and an understanding of some of the
toughest and yet, most beautiful inner city
neighborhoods in Dallas, Texas. Our mission
drives us deep into these wonderful and
challenging areas as we work hand-in-hand with
our neighbors to change, shape, build and in
many cases "reinvent" community.
Working in schools, rallying
churches and encouraging and strengthening
families is what we are all about at Central
Dallas Ministries. The health of these essential
"foreground" institutions determines the fate of
every neighborhood. Working with corporations;
public sector, educational and market place
leaders, and business owners allows us to
prepare, educate and connect our neighbors to
the amazing opportunities provided by the
"background" institutions of a great city like
Dallas.
We make no apology for the
fact that a living and active faith fuels our
work. We are committed to realizing racial
reconciliation in our community. We love the
neighborhoods where we work. As a matter of
fact, many of us live where we work. We believe
in "reneighboring" the areas we seek to renew.
It is exciting, challenging and rewarding work!
As you tour our site, I hope
you will be able to sense our excitement. Take
the time to look for all of the clues that will
tell you this organization is a little different
from most! If you like what you find here, give
me a call. I would love to provide you a
personal tour on the street in our 'hood!
