Children's Education is a comprehensive network of services designed to connect the children and young adults in our communities with their highest potential, academically, spiritually and socially. Central Dallas Ministries has had a presence with the children and young adults of different East and South Dallas neighborhoods for more than a decade and will continue that commitment in its effort to strengthen community.

After-School Academy – An after-school educational and experiential learning program, operating from 3 – 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday in the Turner Courts neighborhood in South Dallas. The ASA provides elementary-aged children the assistance needed to progress academically while also giving them fun enrichment activities that might otherwise be cost-prohibitive. Contact: Janet Morrison at 214.426.3404.

College Prep Program– A support structure around the lives of current and prospective college students who have been involved in CDM's youth programs. Focuses on helping students to develop the skills, knowledge and attitudes that they will need to not only get accepted to college, but to succeed in their studies. Includes college trips and college-focused workshops that help them to envision their future. By inspiring youth from low-income neighborhoods to aspire for college degrees, we challenge students to rise above the many barriers that confront them. By partnering with our students to create a better individual future for themselves, we are working to improve the overall future of our community.

We have recently started a scholarship fund for college students who are connected to CDM; if you would like some more information on this program, please contact Janet Morrison at 214.426.3404.

Urban Experience A one-week urban learning experience focused on four major components: Exposure, Awareness, Reciprocity, and Spirituality.

Includes three sections:

  • Teen Urban Experience

  • College Urban Experience

  • Adult Urban Experience
